You've got questions? We've got answers!
What kind of editing will be done on my photos?
It depends on the type of photoshoot. Since this is most commonly asked in relation to headshot shoots, I will elaborate with that in mind. In editing, I will spot touch (blemishes, stray hairs, etc) and lightly airbrush. Enough that you look your best, while still keeping the integrity of who you are. After all, don't you want the photo to look like YOU? I promise, the casting director will like that too.
How long will it take to get my photos?
For headshots, family, lifestyle and the like, I ask that you allow 2-4 days to receive your proofs. Once you've chosen which ones you'd like edited, please allow 4-5 days for them to be emailed to you. For weddings, please allow 1 month to receive your proofs.
Where will my photoshoot be held?
I always do my shoots on location. What that means is, I scout locations to find what will fit you best (atmosphere, lighting, etc). We will discuss the location in a phone consultation prior to the shoot date.
Do you have a studio?
At this time, I do not have a studio for photography. I work mostly with natural light, on location.
When will my payment be due?
All services (besides weddings) require a $100 deposit and the remaining balance is due at the time of your photoshoot. Weddings require a 50% deposit at the time of booking and the remaining balance by the time of the wedding. All photos are released once full payment is received.
Where do I go to make my deposit?
Visit the Services tab on this website. It will be toward the bottom of the page.
How can I pay?
I accept cash, Visa, MasterCard and American Express at the time of your shoot. All deposits must be paid in advance via the Services page on my website. These payments are processed through PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal account set up, you can sign in as a guest or contact Nicole for an address which you may mail a check to. You will be provided a receipt upon request.
Should I get my makeup professionally done?
For anything but headshots (bridal, editorial, lifestyle, etc), YES. For headshots, I highly suggest doing your own makeup so that you look like you'd normally look at an audition.
Who are some good makeup artists in Atlanta?
I would suggest either using Clairetia Dave (Flattering Faces) or Dustin S Lazenby (DSL Custom Makeup Artistry).
Do I order prints from you?
No. You will receive your proofs via on online large file transfer system called WeTransfer; edits will be sent the same way. You may use any printing site you like to have them done, but Nicole Kovacs Photography does not do the printing for you. This saves you lots of money, as most photographers have a large price tag on prints and do not give you copies of all your photos.
Where do you suggest I go for prints?
My first choice for photographic reproduction in Atlanta is The Pixel Pusher.
Do I own the rights to the photos?
No. All photos are copyright Nicole Kovacs Photography. You may make prints as you please, using the proofs on your disc or the final edits you've been sent. You may share them on social media sites. What you may not do is use them in advertisements or present them as your own work.
Are photoshoots rain or shine?
Unfortunately, because all shoots are on location, it's best that we reschedule if the weather is bad. This is best all around. I always keep an eye on the weather on a day that I have a shoot scheduled, so if there is any question, we will communicate it. This policy does not apply to weddings and events.
